THE ART OF HOSPICE

The Art of HospiceArt transforms the mundane. Art exposes the truth behind an everyday occurrence. The Art of Hospice is an incredible opportunity for your hospice to work with a local artist to transform the hard work of your hospice team into a vision of the truth about the care your patients and families receive, day in and day out.

LMHPCO encourages you register by December 1, 2013 to compete in the Art of Hospice, a competition that will culminate during the 2014 LMHPCO Leadership Conference. Select a local artist to work with your agency over the coming months before the 2014 LMHPCO Leadership Conference. Allow the artist to embed into your hospice agency to gain insight into your agency's work and mission. Engage that artist to create a work of art that exemplifies the care and dignity you provide in your community. (The hospice may choose to commission a piece of art or the artist may choose to retain ownership of the work.) Fifteen (15) pieces of art will be selected during the 2014 LMHPCO Leadership Conference to make up the LMHPCO Collection. These 15 works of art will be held on loan by LMHPCO for 18 months, during which time they will to travel to the following communities for local celebrations of hospice awareness between September 2014 and December 2015.

LMHPCO, working with Lamar Advertising, will provide a public digital billboard and a media campaign to promote the traveling exhibition and the work you are doing in your local community to serve the needs of terminally ill patients and their families. LMHPCO members will be asked to host local events, to be held in conjunction with the public exhibition of the LMHPCO Collection in their community, between September 2014 and December 2015.

There is no cost to enter into this competition and there will be lots of benefits for being part of LMHPCO's 2 year public awareness effort to bring the Art of Hospice to your community.
