CRITERIA FOR DETERMINING HOSPICE APPROPRIATENESS
Although cancer, in all of its forms, constitutes the majority of admissions to hospice nationwide, many non-cancer diagnoses are appropriate for hospice admission as well. The following provides a list of Admission Guidelines for some of these non-cancer diagnoses. It should be noted that this is not an all-inclusive list of diagnoses deemed appropriate for hospice admission.

Pulmonary Disease
Dementia
HIV Disease
Liver Disease
Renal Disease
